Hyundai Construction Equipment is an affiliate of Hyundai Heavy Industries. It was founded in 2017 and its main business is manufacturing and selling construction equipment and industrial automobiles. It has 540 dealer networks in 140 countries, and runs construction equipment remote management system called Hi-MATE. The system connects tens of thousands of machineries, collects their information via satellite and mobile communications, and provides location information, operation information, failure alert, and expendables management service.
The company needed expertise in data analysis but lacked people, organization and tool. They needed means to integrate data but faced data security issue. Therefore they embarked on a project to set up a unified analysis environment establish an analyzing culture.
To the Cloud
On top of the implementation of analysis environment for data-based decision-making, the company introduced a demand prediction system for construction equipment. Working level and data analysts continued to carry out analysis activities, were able to minimize the use of IT resources and establish data-based decision-making system as a result of setting DevOps + DataOps as a goal.

After the project, Hyundai Construction Equipment plans to continue developing new analyzing services and to proceed with cloud optimization and service advancement.
